What is coaching? Is it worth it? What should you expect?
Coaching seems to be controversial for some in the real estate industry. So, is it really worth it? What is the process, and why shouldn’t you invest in real estate without it?
There are many advantages that come with a coach or coaching program. How much weight is given to each of these items will vary depending on your own unique circumstances, experience and goals.
Some of the reasons you’ll want coaching include:
There are various types of programs and formats that may fall under coaching. Here are some of them.
Online Real Estate Coaching
Going beyond the books and seminars that got you started in real estate, there are organized real estate coaching and training programs online. They may be expansive self-study courses, video course or interactive with a live coach.
Phone Coaching
Phone coaching is still a very common way to do this. It’s a great format for engaging with your coach and getting very personalized advice.
Email Coaching
Email coaching can work too. It can be very efficient and may be more your style or fit in better with your needs.
Real Estate Mastermind Groups
Mastermind groups can offer a type of coaching. There may be one or more truly experienced leaders and experts in the group, and very accomplished peers. You can also work together with other members and enjoy many of the same benefits. Though in a less formalized way.
Boots On The Ground Coaching
In some cases real estate coaches will be willing to come to you and train you in your local office and market. This of course may be the pricier option, but it will give you an incredible jump start and momentum, like you won’t get any other way.
1 On 1 Coaching
One on one real estate coaching has many advantages. It means just you and your coach. It means highly personalized and custom advice and help that you may not get in other settings.
Group Coaching
Group coaching can be slightly more affordable than one on one. You may benefit from your peers and really thrive on this type of process. Others will find they need more attention.
How To Get The Most Out Of Real Estate Coaching
How effective your choice of coaching is may depend a lot on you too.
Firstly, you have to show up. You should have set times to meet with your coach. Their time is very valuable and they are super busy with many other clients. They won’t easily be able to reschedule or accommodate you if you show up an hour late. It won’t be nearly as effective if you aren’t showing up consistently either.
Secondly, you have to put it into practice. All the knowledge in the world is useless unless you use it.
Be open too. If you aren’t telling your coach the whole story, they can’t help to the best of their ability. They can’t give you the best tips, solutions and tactics for your unique situation if they don’t know the real picture.
