Real Estate Agents: Getting a HOT lead vs. a COLD lead

When we started 1-800-SELL-NOW, we deliberately did not focus any attention on recruiting real estate agents to our service. We were 100% focused on real estate investors.

Now here we are a few years later and a funny thing has happened. Real estate agents are seeking us out and using our brand to create REAL leads for their business.

You see, the brand 1-800-SELL-NOW says so much so fast that the consumer is not locked into thinking that they will be forced into one type of transaction or another.

In other words, when a consumer calls 1-800-SELL-NOW they could easily be calling because they need help selling their house NOW…….instead of calling out of desperation for a cash offer now. It’s all in the messaging.

If indeed they are calling to simply get help selling their house now…..that easily turns into a listing agreement for the local agent. If they need a cash offer, our agents are pushing these leads to local investors that can make that happen too.

Real estate agents are a group that seem to spend an enormous amount of money with online lead generation sources….and a lot of these simply don’t work out for them. We have heard from agents hundreds of times now about paying for lead sources that end up being the coldest of cold leads.

I think that this has a lot to do with the simple fact that most of these sites either generate these leads from data mining or the consumer is coming to their site to find out what their house is worth, fills out a form, and in turn this data is sold as a lead to an agent. The nature of these types of leads will almost always lead to a low conversion rate. The consumer has no idea that the agent is even going to approach them. The nature of the relationship starts off very confrontational.

On the other hand, when the consumer calls or comes to 1-800-SELL-NOW, they are coming to us because they need help selling their house NOW. The dynamic of the relationship is completely different. The consumer needs their help. They are looking for a solution to their problem. That’s why they called!

Agents report back to us that they are having a lot more success converting these leads to actual customers. I think that this is for one simple reason, the relationship starts off completely different. The consumer needs help and they are reaching out for it. No conflict from the very beginning.

There are literally hundreds of thousands of home sellers out there right now looking for a real estate pro to step in and help them to solve their problem. Some can be helped, some cannot.

The point is to get them to call you for help first!!!!!
