Breaking Into the Real Estate Investing Game

Have you ever wondered why they call it a “game” of real estate investing?

Real estate investing can be highly competitive and there are rules you must play by (if you want to get ahead). Entering the real estate investing game, however, is not like a pick-up softball game with friends – the kind where you just show up with your glove and bat, a grin on your face, and you are ready to talk some harmless smack and play ball. Winning in the real estate investing game requires skill and practice, but more importantly, it takes the right equipment, strategy/ies and knowledge. Having a good coach can’t hurt either, especially when it comes to helping prepare you to face those inevitable curve balls.

The past few years brought about one of the toughest economic climates in U.S. history. Recent reports show that the real estate market is heating up again though. According to the Existing Home Sales Report released by the National Association of REALTORS® in September 2012, the sale of homes in the U.S. during August 2012 increased by 7.8 percent from July, and the median U.S. home price in August increased by 9.8 percent from 2011.

In real estate deals, time is of the essence. Getting from first base to home base successfully means knowing how to line up buyers with the funds to close quickly. After all, without buyers, there is no deal.

The real estate investors who prevail in today’s market will likely be the ones who are prepared to spot the trends and act on the opportunities. Finding the proper real estate investing education, tools and systems is critical.  Many real estate investing education companies exist, but beware of the companies claiming to help you “get rich quick” with their products. Do your homework. Find out if they are trying to sell you something rather than teach you something. What does their success rate look like?

The 2012 Inc. 5000 list came out recently. On that list, a family owned real estate investing firm out of Memphis, TN, called Memphis Invest, ranked number 1320 for the fastest growing companies in America. Among the companies included, Memphis Invest placed number 29 in the real estate category. Since the company’s establishment in 2004, their team developed and successfully employed investment systems. Memphis Invest joined forces with Real Estate Worldwide, Inc. to bring real estate investors their proven investment systems. Like good real estate investors, their team is prepared for the upward ride happening in the real estate market right now, and they are helping fellow real estate investors create success with these systems too.
